Welcome
Since 2023, we have hiked approximately 200+ hikes with parents and engaged 3000 community members. Grown from a small group of parents into a supportive, diverse network of families across the GTA who regularly connect through nature.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make the outdoors accessible and welcoming for all families, no matter their background, experience level, or stage of parenting. Whether you’re looking to build friendships, find calm in the chaos of parenting, or simply enjoy fresh air with your little ones, Toronto Hiking Moms offers a safe, supportive space to explore together.
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Our Story
In 2023 Toronto Hiking Moms was born from the need for connection, healing, and adventure. What started as a few moms walking with strollers has grown into a community rooted in nature, friendship, and support. Every trail we walk is a reminder that we’re not alone in the journey of parenthood.
What We’ve Achieved
Featured on blogTO as a top Facebook group for a Parenting Support Group.
Prioritized accessibility & affordability: Every event is designed to be budget conscious, inclusive to all levels of hiking and welcoming to all family structures and stages of parenting.
Hiked over 200 hikes with families and kids of varying ages. Had our first annual Family Camp Trip in Muskoka in 2024 with seven families.
Advocated for family friendly outdoor culture in Toronto: We’re helping to redefine what it means to be outdoorsy with kids in tow, by normalizing messy, beautiful, real-life adventures on the trail.
Engaged over 3000+ community members on social media.
Recruited and retained volunteers/hike leads from the community to lead hikes and stroller walks.
Funded and operated as a grassroots nonprofit: Sustainably run by parents, guided by passion, purpose and community care.
Created space for maternal mental health & connection: By offering safe, welcoming walks in nature, we’ve helped moms combat isolation, reduce stress, and build real friendships through shared experiences.

Hi, I’m Agatha!
I’m the founder of Toronto Hiking Moms, a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, and a big believer in the magic that happens when parents and nature come together. I started this group to create a space for connection, movement, and healing, for ourselves and our little ones, out on the trail.
By profession, I work in municipal public service, helping people navigate complex systems with care and compassion. I also served as Board Chair for SuiteLife Arts for Youth a Toronto nonprofit that empowers young people through creativity and the arts- because I believe community care starts young and grows with us.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University and I’m Certified in Wilderness First Aid- because safety matters when you’re leading adventures with families!
I’ve hiked through waterfalls in Argentina (hello, Iguazu Falls!) and make frequent trips to beautiful British Columbia to visit friends and get my dose of wild, west coast magic.
Whether you’re a brand new parent or a seasoned trail mom, I’m so glad you’re here. Lace up your shoes, pack the snacks, and come walk with us- you’ve found your people.
